My boyfriend (from canada) and i (from the usa) talk on the phone, and we’re looking for cheaper options-since his cell phone plan in canada doesn’t allow a lower rate for talking to the US. Can he use a phone card on a cell phone? Or any discounted numbers at all?
Any advice would help, thanks!

I’ve historically had really really good luck with speedypin.com (& no this isn’t a spambot, ha) they will list a whole bunch of choices from the continental US to Jamaica, pick one with no connection fee, no fees/taxes (meaning there won’t be a weekly or monthly fee for just having the card) and rounding to the nearest 1 minute or less (3 min rounding or more is a total ripoff!)

If you think you need a lot of minutes, get a card worth more than $ 40 and they’ll give you 5% off. (You can usually use it for other countries too, just check the rate charts.) If you’re not sure how much you’ll need, buy a small one and they will probably send you a coupon for some % off your next purchase/refill with them anyway.
